Playa Azul, Guanacasta, Costa Rica

We had our home in Costa Rica custom built in 2004-2005 with local materials and labor as we wanted to add to the community and not detract by shipping things down  from the US. We have loved owning it and staying there but now have moved back permanently to Italy and the commute is much more difficult since we can only travel when school is out due to adopting our grandson. 

 

We never thought we would sell it but realize we won’t get to visit there very often so now is the time. We have been using it as a very successful vacation rental for the last 9 years since our time there has been very limited each year. Our staff (house manager, housekeeper, gardener) have been with us for many years and would look forward to continuing with a new owner as they depend on their jobs with us, plus you would want them to continue caring for the home as they know it well.  

 

Our home is in a remote part of the Guanacaste Peninsula located between Tamarindo and Nosara as far west as you can go before you jump in the Pacific ocean, referred to as The Gold Coast. Also mentioned as one of the five Blue Zones of the world we are on the Nicoya Peninsula. It’s only a 90 minute drive from the Liberia International Airport and a 4 hr drive from the Capital City of San Jose. 

If you walk out the front door and take 361 of my steps you will be touching our beautiful black sand beach. Basically private and you will only see a few other local owners enjoying sunsets there. First question we are always asked is it really on the beach and yes, you sit on the veranda and watch the sunset every evening at approximately 5:45. We are positioned directly behind a small boutique resort so you can enjoy their restaurant and pool for a small fee. It is possible to add a private pool to the property if you prefer. 

Our home features a private ¼ acre garden on a sloping lot to maximize the ocean view. 2500 square feet of indoor living space and was created with local materials and artists keeping the exotic Costa Rica feel so you can experience the culture in comfort.. The upscale seaside 3-Bedroom, 3 bath with an additional sun room and King size futon.
